Ladies from Doddervale Flower Club were awarded a gold medal for their exhibit 'Ode to President Higgins and the Arts' at the Board Bia Bloom Festival 2025. The exhibit highlights a small part of President Higgins's vast lifetime work, namely his contribution to the arts.

The President and Mrs Higgins invited Doddervale Flower Club ladies who staged the AOIFA exhibit and other members and friends to Afternoon Tea at Aras an Uachtaráin to congratulate them in person. In his speach he congratulated and thanked them for creating a beautiful exhibit. He also acknowledged the Flower Club's platform to use our creativity and skills and its contribution to social inclusion which is close to his heart.

The ladies were treated to a most enjoyable afternoon of warm and generous hospitality in beautiful surroundings.

It was wonderful that a Flower Club was recognised and acknowledged for its role alongside other organisations providing services in the wider community.
